Retail to watch in 2010...

Did I ever say that the main tool of "intuitive intuition" is being aware of your surroundings.

I went to the Mall, today.  And this is news because of the frequency of my visits.  The local is owned by CBL and while we were heavily IN, my R&D took me there, at least weekly.  We've long been out of CBL (IN @ 6.95/OUT @ 10.69, 2 Month Hold) and I AVOID the place.

This is the preamble to some observations I made.

DDS (IN 10.66), which some of us own, was NOT busy.  But, really, who's going to hold that past January?
Macy's had a good pace, but the discounts were so deep even I bought something there.

The REAL story is a store called "HOLLISTER".
The name is on everything in the store.  Their merch is of the jeans and t-shirt variety.  I could only stomach the place for a glance and the reason why is the reason for this entry.  It was populated by what I'm going to refer to as "Hollister Teens".   "Populated" is too mildly descriptive, "OVERRUN" is more apt.  As a "bachelor of a certain age" I avoid this specre of society like The Plague, but there is a lesson, here.  The Mall, itself, had these kids walking with their "Hollister" Brown Bags as if they had just come from Tiffany & Co.
I have my peculiarites in investing--- no Burgers, no NBC Affiliated (GE [dispite my mother's Bonds]), anti Too Green; and usually, not Too Common, but the first thing I did was to check the Blackberry for a listing on Hollister (Private, damn).  These Hollister Teens aren't going anywhere, so it's a new Social Track Line.  They consider Old Navy their parent's store and The Gap and Abercrombie is what they can currently only aspire to.
Social Tracking is going to make us money in Retail for 2010.  It served us well on TLB and DDS in 2009.

Oh yeah, if you go to the Official Hollister website, you'll find the catagories of "Dudes/Bettys" instead of "Men/Women".  Their Marketing knows the Target Audience.  The Clique (all of who know me on "down time") knows that if the following is indicative of  the "Dudes" catagory, I may be wearing the label before too long or buying it for someone not to wear...

R&D has it's up side...

This Week...

This will be a Mangement Week for me.  I'm keeping track of "the ships already docked in port" instead of gazing at the horizon for incoming traffic.

(If you don't get the joke on this page,
 you haven't done your homework.)

I am declining on KSP on a Fundamental Basis.  If I have to look at Fundies to do a Trade, it's probably not going to Port.

Today...

IN to KSP @ 10.60...  But besides that, I'm still commited to a Christmas Surprise to take profits.

I think it's time to go people watching at the Mall.

Ford will be $15 by July, 2010.  Made that call to a Broker.

This Week...

I'm treating EOY Trading like any other couple of weeks; with added downtime for the Holiday Breaks.  However, there is the Market Psychology of a new year to consider.  And what a year to be considering: 2010...

Weighing on my mind this week:
  • My search for the right solar Buy is evading me.
  • Taking Profits on F?  Should I liquidate 25% of my Position to Realize them?
  • Should I take ALL profits and put into "New Account"?  I'm headed that way in the week after Chistmas.
This WILL be a profit week, so strap yourselves in.
S/Ls will be quite active.

Now for the results of last "Cramer Effect":

Drumroll, please:

Are you ready?:

4.11% Net / 9 Days

(It has been a good game, but I'm "selling my clubs".
Cowboys Netted 9.34% over same period.)

KSP - Go In...

Next Week...

Here are the Picks we'll be watching next.  I'm taking dividend positions on a couple for the New Account .

BKCC  BQR  HTS  IGD  IWA  KSP
 PDLI

We took a Block of IWA this week.
Iowa Telecommunications Services (IWA), which serves customers in rural Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri, pays an outstanding yield of 9.6%. The company's operating cash flow of $86 million is more than enough to cover its $53 million in dividend payouts. The market cap is $556 million.

Out Of Town...

I'm going to the country, again.

Will be checking DaTra Group Email @ O/N/C.

Go Shopping.  Although most of us are done with the major gifts, take some time to find stocking stuffers.  Our Ports are up for the year, so Relax with some Consumption.
Sydicates are in effect and Dailies will be kept current.  Don't worry, be Happy.

Syndications Next Week...

We're going to pursue two Sydications for Next Week:

  • A "Cramer Effect" which didn't get off the ground this week.  3 slots available.

  • Membership in the "GSIG" Account Sydicate at Fidelity will be closed out on Sunday.  This is a gamble for us, but I have a heavy vest in this project. (C,W)  Check Dailies and let me know.

Today...

That Cowboy of Nov 19, IROG, I've decided to hold.  It's okay to get out at this +%, but why?  That's my opinion.

Slow day...week [sic].

CZWI broke, today.  Didn't catch the 4.02 Open, but wouldn't have acted on that. Give it a couple weeks and take profit. (?)

DUSA continues to frustrate.  Even for a Holding, I wish it'd show a bit more strength.

So bored, today, that I reupped on CAGTF with loose change on a Strategic Bet.  I'm thinking about going to a "Twelve Stepper" for my Addiction to Playing!

DUSA, Today...

If DUSA continues to fall, we're IN today.

WFC...

May be time...one day we'll wake up and  wonder whether we should have gotten IN @ this $28.  Further, I'll grin at the prospect of using $28 as Our Pricing Earmark for this co.  I've a Buy IN @ 28.95; Hell, if it goes to 29., it won't stop 'til 30. and I can put a S/L on it.  This one has me IN on an emotional note.
